What are 4k projectors

1080p Projector have 1,920 horizontal pixels (per row) and 1,080 vertical pixels (per column) regardless of their actual screen size. The screen of a 4K Ultra HD Projector has 3,480 vertical pixels and 2,160 horizontal pixels, resulting in about 8 million pixels. The company has opted for real 4K instead of pixel-shifting, and has made a lot of noise about it. In this approach, each of the three major colors on a 4K image chip is incorporated with its own pixels.

This chip has an 8.8 million pixel resolution (4096 x 2160), which matches the pixel count in commercial cinemas. In addition to the additional 500,000 pixels on Ultra HD Blu-ray, all consumer-based content gets an extra 500,000 pixels.
